for the most part, all creatures <including the things that you guys will be> will be based off of the land you are living in

these guys have a glowing emblem on their chest that signifies what pride they are in, they are capable of changing
if they do not have one, they are not in a pride.
their domesticated counterparts are typically smaller (unless they're used for guard purposes) and their emblems will vary in the village they live in.
these are harmful to the land in large numbers as the do use up minerals from the land should there be a lack of insects.
